I’ve been participating in the Vermont cube-sat project, a NASA EPSCoR funded satellite swarm research group based at The University of Vermont. The goal of this effort is to launch three cube-sats, small 10cm x 10cm x 10cm satellites, into orbit for the purpose of furthering satellite swarm technology. Our small group of high school students and college students are currently in the planning phase of development. We are meeting with industrial partners, working with Vermont Tech's Cube-Sat Lab, learning from professors about Control Systems and Orbital mechanics, and much more. Vermont Technical College's 2013 experience launching their own cube-sat has proven valuable in developing the satellite software (Spark-Ada programming language).
